The expression ‘it girl’ originated in British upper-class society around the turn of the 20th century….an extremely popular and attractive young socialite or celebrity.”
But not all of us want to be a celebrity.
Not all of us want to be famous.
We don’t want to go out of our way to socialize.
We don’t want to live up to somebody’s standards or the societal standards of what a woman should be and what she shouldn’t be.
It’s simple.
You can’t please everyone.
You can’t be sexy when you don’t feel like it.
You can’t be at your best every time to please someone.
Isn’t it too draining!
At least it is for me.
Then why did I name my community “the girl tribe”?
Because in my head, that girl is not just a sex symbol.
She is also not happy and cheerful. Although there might be phases.
She does not live her life to impress others.
She doesn’t engage in societal drama to stay relevant.
She is not a wannabe.
She doesn’t live like she’s higher than others.
To me, an IT girl is someone who is self-aware.
She knows that she can truly be happy only when she has lived to her fullest potential.
She is spiritual.
She pays attention to what she puts in her body.
She pays attention to what she puts in her mind. She is choosy about the media she consumes.
She is aware of her emotions and she is slowly working towards conquering them to step into her powerful self.
Her body, mind, and spirit are all engaged in bettering herself.
She is working on her self-image, conquering one demon at a time.
She’s not afraid to fail or embarrass herself.
She uses jealousy or envy as a means to better herself.
She doesn’t procrastinate. She takes action. She creates magic.
She is magical.
She is an alchemist…turning her pain into power.
So I welcome all of you ladies….on this self-development journey.
Who are less worried about disappointing and pleasing others and more invested in elevating their self-worth and potential.
